“Dare to explore a world that is bigger than you know. There are a lot of reasons to not do something or not feel something. Those boundaries and walls are put up by ourselves. Once we’re able to step outside of them, we can truly realize the endless possibilities the world has to offer.”
TOUGHEST PLACE TO BE A BUS DRIVER: MANILA
I want you guys to meet Josh West, a London bus driver, who went to Manila, as he braved the chaos of the streets in a Jeepney owned by Rogelio Castro.
I was seriously crying my eyes out starting halfway until I finished the entire documentary. At Part 4 of the 6 videos, Josh said something like this: “We may have the same job of transporting people, but he works harder than I do. What I earn if I drive in an hour is more than what Rogelio earns in a day.” I could see through his eyes that Josh’s heart was crushed by the reality he was learning from these regular Filipino people. Nakakainis kasi kailangan pa nating mapanood ‘to from the point of view of an outsider. Masakit tanggapin pero totoo, naghihirap tayo at parang walang ginagawa ang gobyerno para solusyonan ito. I hope for us who have watched and understood this documentary, we would be able to do or make something, no matter how small it is, to help uplift our country’s condition.
